We are working with a rapidly expanding startup, backed by prominent gaming venture capital firms, dedicated to transforming the integration of user-generated content (UGC) into the gaming landscape. Their platform boasts over 450,000 daily active users, and they are now looking for top-tier developers to contribute to building a cutting-edge interface for exploring and installing UGC, seamlessly integrated into some of the most prominent games worldwide.
The demand for in-game content is skyrocketing across diverse platforms. However, the current user experience often falls short due to game engines not being optimized for content exploration. Our client is committed to changing this narrative by creating a highly modular, lightweight web app that is customizable and can be seamlessly embedded into games of all sizes.
As an Integration Engineer, you will:
Develop and support our UGC platform's REST API.
Understand the technical requirements of game developers, mod creators, payment providers, and stores.
Contribute to defining the solution architecture.
Collaborate with frontend, API, and integration development teams to design and develop a flexible REST API.
Design APIs for content synchronization and implement a system for game integration.
Test and implement APIs with a focus on scalability and security.
Maintain clean and well-documented code for potential open-source contributions.
What we are looking for:
3+ years of PHP experience with Laravel/Lumen.
Familiarity with NoSQL key-stores (e.g., memcached/redis) and relational databases (e.g., MariaDB).
Proficient in writing clean, robust, and reusable code.
Strong understanding of RESTful APIs.
Experience with Amazon Web Services (e.g., S3, Lambda, SNS, SES, SQS, EC2, RDS).
Capability to take a concept from design to a functional release.
Confidence in leading a project independently.
Enthusiasm for experimentation and attention to detail.
Passion for video games and an understanding of challenges related to UGC.
Familiarity with frontend development, Vue.js, Swagger/OpenAPI, and Trello is a plus.
