Just Digital People are partnering with a fantastic global software business to find their next Engineering Manager. This business has built award-winning software for years and have serviced customers all over the globe.

They develop end to end software solutions that fast-track the utilization of networks across fiber, and 5G. They pride themselves on modern best-practice engineering and development & help make everyone’s lives easier and lightning-fast (particularly when we need the internet during the dreaded COVID)!

Put simply - you will be solving complex problems within the tricky jungle that is large-scale telecom networks – on a global scale. Joining a culture of innovation, passion, and hard work – whilst being able to have a good side conversation throughout the day. Yep they don’t take themselves too seriously!

What do we need in you?

We are looking for an Engineering Manager who can lead from the front, initially, you will have a team of (up to) 8 direct reports and you’ll work closely with another Engineering Manager reporting in to the Head of Tech. They have 15 in the product engineering team and 80 company-wide, so you will work to develop and contribute to the multiple software products they manage, whilst ensuring the team's coding standards are up to scratch and there is a constant innovative mindset throughout the team.

If you are looking to sit completely off the tools, this is not the role for you. There will still be a hands-on element to this role, as the go-to technical leader you will be working closely with your team to make sure any complex problems are solved and mentoring the team closely on coding standards.

Their stack is: React, JavaScript, Typescript, Python, AWS, IaC, Terraform built-in microservices with some serverless functions as well. Ideally, you will have worked closely with these technologies – but it’s not a deal-breaker if you have not.

Right, I am guessing you are super interested at this point?

These are the skills you need to bring to the table:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field. (Equivalent practical experience will be considered).
• Demonstrated experience developing large web-based applications.
• Demonstrated technical leadership experience (leading project teams and providing technical
• direction)
• Solid experience in writing JavaScript & ideally React, Redux – but other similar libraries will suffice
• Experience architecting and developing distributed, service-based systems
• Demonstrated experience in liaising with multiple stakeholders to deliver software solutions
• Modern JavaScript (ES6)
• Experience with browser testing frameworks such as Cypress or Selenium.
• Knowledge of modern browser technologies
• Test frameworks like TOX

And the bonus round:

• Exposure to Typescript, and backend languages such as Python
