About the Opportunity:
Are you an experienced Test Lead with a passion for managing and executing complex testing programs? Join a leading organization dedicated to providing reliable energy transmission infrastructure across Queensland. As part of a critical and long-term program, you’ll work with a dynamic team in a company that is committed to inclusivity and flexibility.
We pride ourselves on having a supportive, inclusive culture where diversity is championed, including a strong focus on employing individuals from indigenous backgrounds, women, and people with disabilities. We're proud to be ranked as one of the top 18 businesses to work for in Queensland, and we offer a collaborative, rewarding environment with long-term contracting opportunities.

The Role:
As a Test Lead, you will play a senior role in the Advanced Energy Management System (AEMS) program. You will lead a team of 15 testers and be responsible for planning, managing, and executing all testing activities within the program. This includes defining test strategies, scoping, scheduling, and resource allocation. In addition, you will work hands-on with test scripts, ensuring the highest quality standards are maintained throughout the process.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage testing activities for a complex and business-critical program.
  • Develop test strategies, define test scope, create schedules, and allocate resources.
  • Guide and support a team of 15 testers, ensuring they meet quality and testing standards.
  • Execute hands-on testing activities, including writing test scripts and conducting tests.
  • Track defects, analyze test results, and communicate risks or issues to stakeholders.
  • Provide regular reports on testing progress, including quality and performance metrics.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and ensure alignment with company objectives.
The Right Candidate:
We’re looking for someone who is proactive, confident in decision-making, and able to work independently. You’ll be comfortable in leading a team while navigating a long and complex program, ensuring testing activities meet the highest standards. You must also be adaptable, with excellent communication skills to engage with stakeholders at all levels.
Key Traits:
  • Initiative: You can assess situations, make decisions with confidence, and drive outcomes independently.
  • Communication: Tailor your communication style to different audiences – knowing when to go into detail and when to be succinct.
  • Quick Learner: Ability to rapidly pick up new concepts and apply them to different situations.
  • Influence: You have the patience and persuasion to guide teams and stakeholders, even when others are set in their ways.
This role will challenge you to bring about change in a team that has a mixture of long-term employees, some of whom have been with the company for over 30 years.

Why Join?
  • Flexibility: A balanced approach to work with the ability to work from home or flexible office hours.
  • Inclusivity: A diverse workplace with opportunities to be part of a culture that champions equal employment opportunities.
  • Long-Term Opportunity: Contract opportunities for up to 7 years, offering stability and the chance to make an enduring impact.
