A large-scale national digital transformation program is seeking an experienced Test Analyst to support a multi-phase software delivery initiative. This role will focus on quality assurance across all stages of the project lifecycle — from unit testing through to user acceptance and regression testing — in a Windows–Apache–PHP environment, leveraging a proprietary non-relational database.
This is a full-time or contract opportunity open to candidates based in Melbourne or Canberra, with mostly remote work and occasional travel to major cities as required.

Key Responsibilities
- Design and execute detailed test plans and test cases based on technical specifications, functional requirements, and user stories.
- Collaborate with developers to improve unit test coverage and align testing with acceptance criteria.
- Build and maintain automated regression tests tailored to the Windows–Apache–PHP stack.
- Conduct system integration testing (SIT) to validate internal and external component interactions.
- Coordinate and facilitate User Acceptance Testing (UAT), including preparation of test data, scheduling cycles, and managing defect triage.
- Participate in test case walkthroughs with developers, business analysts, and product owners to confirm accuracy and completeness.
- Use Azure DevOps (or equivalent) for test planning, defect tracking, and results reporting.
- Document test outcomes, create traceability matrices, and contribute to go-live assessments.
- Support performance, usability, and security testing efforts where required.
Mandatory Requirements
- Australian Citizenship and the ability to obtain an AGSVA Baseline Security Clearance.
- Bachelor’s degree in IT, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in software testing roles, preferably within Agile delivery teams.
- Proven skills in unit, integration, regression, and UAT testing.
- Hands-on experience writing and maintaining automated tests (e.g., Selenium, PHPUnit).
- Technical proficiency with Windows OS, Apache Server, PHP, and non-relational databases.
- Familiarity with Azure DevOps or similar application lifecycle management (ALM) tools.
- Strong understanding of Agile and SDLC best practices.
- Excellent documentation and communication skills, with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical audiences.
Desirable Skills
- Experience with PHP testing frameworks such as PHPUnit, Codeception, or Behat.
- Exposure to IRAP-compliant environments or other regulated testing standards.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps automation tools.
- Understanding of querying non-relational or proprietary databases.
- Ability to contribute to testing strategies and continuously improve QA processes.
