The people building it are among the best in the country at what they do, and the hardware you design will be part of something you will still be talking about in ten years.

Can you do this?

• Live in SolidWorks, and design jigs and fixtures that work on the shop floor rather than just on screen
• Produce drawings a manufacturer can quote and build from without picking up the phone
• Model subassemblies and interface components that have to fit into a much bigger system
• Land running, with no ramp-up period and no hand-holding
• Document your work clearly enough that someone else can pick it up cold
• If you read those and thought "that's my day job", you are the person they want.

What will get you looked at first

• You are available now, or on no more than a week's notice
• You have delivered inside short, sharp engagements before and know how to be useful in week one
• You have worked on complex mechanical systems or in an advanced engineering environment
• You are comfortable making decisions and owning them without a committee
• Are you a citizen / have full working rights 

Why bother

• The work is hands-on hardware, going straight into use rather than into a review queue
• The team is small, highly capable, and moves fast
• The program itself is genuinely rare, and there is a strong chance of more work beyond this piece
• You will be able to point at it for the rest of your career
