Just Digital People are working with a Federal Government department to add needed support to their team during a significant project. The start date is set for early March.

We are seeking a Data Architect to join their team.

Candidates must have a minimum of Baseline Security Clearance.

Responsibilities

• Drive standardisation of data modelling, migration, and data governance for the Indigo Program. Develop and implement standardised data modelling practices to ensure consistency and accuracy across all data-related activities.
• Working with the BAU Data Governance function, establish and enforce data governance policies and procedures to maintain data integrity and quality.
• Facilitate the enterprise data view by creating a comprehensive enterprise data model that provides a unified view of data across the organisation; collaborating with various stakeholders to understand their business data needs and integrate them into the enterprise data model; ensuring the enterprise data view supports business intelligence and analytics requirements.
• Oversee the planning and execution of data migration tasks, ensuring they are completed on time; coordinate with IT and business teams to identify data migration requirements and develop appropriate solutions; monitor and report on the progress of data migration requirements, addressing any issues and risks that arise.
• Identify security measures to protect sensitive data during migration and storage; ensure compliance with relevant data protection regulations and standards; conduct regular audits and assessments to identify and mitigate security vulnerabilities.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to ensure alignment and effective communication throughout the project lifecycle.

Requirements

• 3 years of hands-on experience with data modelling, governance and/or migration and experience with team management.
• Demonstrated ability to use best practice data management methods and suitable data analysis tools and techniques.
• Expert knowledge of metadata management and related tools and knowledge of mathematical foundations and statistical analysis.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to understand and manage stakeholder expectations to deliver data-driven solutions.
• Proficient in writing technical documentation using appropriate templates/version control and experience with developing data warehouse, data lake, and enterprise big data solutions within cloud-platforms.
• Excellent problem-solving, communication and presentation skills.
