Just Digital People are working on what is probably the coolest role in Melbourne at the moment, I’m willing to put some coin on that!
We are currently working with a cutting edge and very successful Australian software business in the Melbourne!... If you love the thought of a juicy project with a whole range of exciting tech, look no further.
We are looking for a Senior/Principal Software Engineer who loves working in a no bullsh*t environment with a team who get things done and work extremely hard to make consumers happy. They are super customer focused and to make that happen they live & breath exciting technology ensuring that the product is the best it can possibly be.
There are a few elements to this project, they have a legacy application built in older .NET, C# technologies. This app has $250 million worth of revenue running through it, they are now looking to build a greenfield application which will eventually replace the legacy app.
The Greenfields team will be building this out with Serverless Architecture and will be set up to ship: Golang, Python or Ruby.
So what we need from you is experience in working with Serverless Architecture and excellent exposure to many of the 3 languages above with the frameworks and libraries that go with them. Essentially someone who is technology agnostic would be epic, someone who loves a wide range of technology and not just pigeon hole-ing themselves into one vertical of technologies.
This team run a very LEAN ship and love people who are autonomous and own their own sh*t. you don’t need permission to build things unless it sits outside of the software principles they are running – Principle number 1 …if it’s not serverless, why is it not?

Required Skills:
- Expert knowledge of either Python, Ruby or Go
- Knowledge of serverless and microservices architecture
- Experience developing and consuming RESTful APIs
- Knowledge of CI/CD (e.g. TeamCity)
- Experience with SCM (e.g. Git)
- Understanding of Agile methodology
- Passionate about learning new technologies
- Strong interpersonal skills, self-sufficient and creative thinker
- Good understanding of basic security principles
What will you be doing?
- HUGELY EXCITING STUFF
- Implementing Azure across the business
- Build automation scripting for applications coded in various technologies, including .NET
- Cloud infrastructure provisioning and automation, using various technologies such as Chef and Puppet
- Supporting multiple development teams to utilise the platform/tools to implement their own build and deployment automation
- Working closely with your team and mentoring where appropriate
